ABOVE POVERTY LINE SCHEME: -

The above poverty line is drawn at a level where the annual income of a family is more than Rs. 9000. The APL cardholders are provided with a yellow coloured booklet type ration card along with a photograph of head of the family. Since the market rates of the food grains are on the lower side, hence the lifting of APL food grains is virtually nil. Cardholders generally purchase sugar and kerosene oil from the fair price shops.

BELOW POVERTY LINE SCHEME: -

Govt. of Uttaranchal has given top priority to the allocation and distribution of food grains under the Targeted Public Distribution System. According to the norms set by erstwhile state of Uttar Pradesh, families who have a gross annual income of Rs. 9000 or less are eligible for this scheme. The cardholders are given a white coloured ration card along with a photograph of the head of the family.

ANTODYAYA ANNA YOJANA SCHEME: -

Antodyaya Anna Yojana was launched by Honourable Prime Minister of India on 25 December 2000. This scheme reflects the commitment of the Government of India to ensure food security for all. It is targeted for the poorest of the poor. 15.33% of BPL families were designated for Antodyaya scheme. The beneficiaries of this scheme are given pink coloured ration card in Uttaranchal 

MID-DAY-MEAL SCHEME: -

 The Mid-Day-Meal Scheme has been implemented in the state since 1996.  The Hon’ble Supreme Court had directed all the State Govts. to provide cooked meal to the children. In compliance to this order, the Department of Education has started distributing cooked meal in Government Primary School since June 2002.
